Let us unite but remain DIVERSE!

The earth as we know it is composed of varying topography, climate, trees, plants, animals and human inhabitants. Humanity as we know it varies physically and biologically. Most important we vary culturally. And the variety makes earth attractive, beautiful and worth living in. Whenever we travel from one place to the other we find that the inhabitants there behave differently. They cook their food the way they want. They speak a different language. We have to guess the meaning of their mimics. Hair styles, fashion designs, architecture, sculpture and landscaping designs follow a peoples' own concepts. It is always exciting to visit a place because of this diversity. However, we are slowly being pushed into a direction which I am sure will lead us into a very uninteresting social and cultural environment. What else can you say when we are being programmed to think and conceive ideas in the same manner? Our individual belief and value system are being trampled upon. I sometimes feel that we are being robotized. And end as straight jackets? This trend must be stopped. Human diversity should stay! Let us be ONE but remain as DIVERSE as before! Each culture must be respected.

Freedom of press under attack in Uganda | Katine | guardian.co.uk

Experience had shown that vigilance against the entrenchment of power in the same hand is important and necessary. When the present head of government was beginning to extend his stay in power beyond the normal length of time, those patriotic people who believed in freedom, democracy and human rights should have already seen what he planned to do. He has been eroding peoples' rights and freedoms and expanding their party's power every year, yet those in the know kept on voting for him. Now if Uganda returns to what it was under dictatorship, it can be said that the people themselves brought it back. Thus the saying that the people deserve the way they are governed will proved to be true again.

My friends, VIGILANCE IS IMPORTANT AND NECESSARY! NEVER SLEEP ON YOUR RIGHTS!
